Yes, and it's one of the most iconic experiences in Southeast Asia! Arrive at the main gate by 5:00–5:15 AM to get a good spot at the reflecting pool. Your Angkor Pass is valid from 5:00 AM the day before purchase, so you can buy it the evening before to save time. Bring a flashlight, insect repellent, and a light jacket as it can be cool before dawn. The sky turns brilliant shades of orange and pink behind the temple spires — truly unforgettable.
What currency should I use in Siem Reap and are ATMs easy to find?
Both US Dollars and Cambodian Riel (KHR) are widely accepted in Siem Reap. USD is the dominant currency for most transactions. ATMs are plentiful around Pub Street, the Old Market, and major hotels — most dispense USD. Expect a $4–6 ATM fee per withdrawal, so withdraw larger amounts less frequently. Credit cards are accepted at most restaurants and hotels but carry some cash for markets and tuk-tuks.
